the Country of the green dolphin is a novel written by Elizabeth Goudge.
He tells the history of William, an alive young man in a village of the Channel Islands and his meeting with the girls Patourel. William fall in love with beautiful and fair Marguerite but however, it cannot prevent herself from constantly confusing the first name of the two sisters. It is this detail which will make rock the life of these three people. Lately installed as colonist in New Zealand, William writes to the parents of her beloved to ask for the authorization to them of marry Marguerite. A few months later however, it is Marianne which unloads on the quays.
