Country of Laudon

The country of Laudon is a small area located on western bank of the Lac of Annecy. It consists of a valley surrounded of the Massif of Semnoz, with the west, and Roc of the Oxen in the east which marks the limit with the Pays of Faverges.

The country of Laudon, is a Savoyard country, belonging to the Canton of Seynod, 2nd district of Haute-Savoie, Arrondissement of Annecy, department of Haute-Savoie, area the Rhone-Alps.

History

Geography

Located on western bank of the Lake Annecy, the country of Laudon extends in a glacial valley of origin between the Massif from Semnoz in the west and the Roc from the Oxen in the east. The territory extends about on 10 km from north in the south and 6 km of are in west.

It has a frontage of 7 km on the Lac of Annecy and by the Col of Leschaux the bottom of the valley joined Lescheraines and the Combe of Savoy.

Summits: crêt of Châtillon (1 704 m), crêt of the Eagle (1 649 m), rock of the Oxen (1 610 m)
