Country-Extremely

The Country-Extremely is a small area of Berry located between the the Sologne and the Sancerrois. The name of this area comes to him from these western fringes (as with Aubigny-on-Nère or Vault-with Angillon) where one passes to a few kilometers close to “strong country” (fertile scrap-metal) in “weak country” (the forest and moors of the Sologne where “nothing pushes”). The Country-Extremely revêt a particularly strong identity in the canton of Vailly-on-Sauldre, too far from Sancerre to be sancerrois. Today, this small Normandy berrichonne is a rather poor territory and little populated which did not experience a strong development with 19th and 20th centuries. The essence of its economy rests on the Polyculture (bovine, caprine breeding and cultures of Oléagineux). Its limits with Sancerrois are badly defined, just like in the south, with the grounds of the Principauté of Boisbelle and the forests which isolate it from the Champagne berrichonne.
