Counting Crows

Counting Crows is an American group of alternative Rock, become famous starting from 1994 after the exit of their album August and Everything After , from which the song " is resulting; Mr. Jones".

History

The singer Adam Duritz and the guitarist David Bryson (all two members of the group The Himalayans ) form Counting Crows with San Francisco in 1991.

Their first album, August and Everything After leaves in 1993. The group becomes universally known with the song " Mr. Jones" whose words are inspired by the childhood of a friend of Adam and bass player in the Himalayans Marty Jones .

It is in 1996 that Recovering the Satellites leaves, their second album. More melody than the precedent, it contains calm titles like " Recovering the Satellites" or individual the " With December" Length; and " Miller' S Angels".

Then in 1999 This Desert Life leaves in its turn. This album is quickly success, in particular thanks to " Hanginaround" and especially with " Colorblind" (which will be reproduced on the original soundtrack of the film Sexe intentions).

Put aside the exit of their fourth album Hardware Candy in 2002, Counting Crows takes again the song of Joni Mitchell " Big Yellow Taxi" 1970. The group seems to approach a more traditional rock'n'roll. It begins again in particular into live, of the songs in artists such as Bruce Springsteen, Rod Stewart, Pure League Meadow, Rolling Stones, Grateful Dead, Van Morrison, U2 and Oasis.

In 2004 the group sees the song " Accidentally in Love" to appear on the original soundtrack of the film Shrek 2, and will become it also very popular. It is nominated besides for Academy Award.
