Counterparts of the Statue of Freedom

The Statue of Freedom is one of the monuments of the town of New York, and with stronger reason of the the United States. Moreover, its universal character of Allégorie of the Liberté confers a notoriety on a worldwide scale to him. For this reason, very many counterparts of the monument, of more or less important size, were set up since its inauguration in 1886.

Here a nonexhaustive list, since all the reproductions are not known, of the various reproductions of Lady Liberty in France:

With Paris, a counterpart of 11,50 m is placed at the downstream end of the Île of the Swans to the height of the Pont of Grenelle, near the place where the workshop was held of Bartholdi. One can read on his shelf “IV July 1776 = XIV July 1789”.

most recent, high of approximately 12 meters, inaugurated in 2004, is located at the northern entry of Colmar, city where was born Bartholdi. It celebrates the centenary of its death.
