Counter-signature

Operation to contresign. In constitutional Law, the authority which contresigns an act endorses the responsibility for it, individually or jointly with the authority which took the note.

In France, the Constitution of October 4th, 1958 requires, in theory, that the acts of the President of the Republic be contresigned by the Prime Minister and possibly by some Ministre S ( article 19 ). Same manner, the acts of the Prime Minister are contresigned by one or more Ministre S under the terms of the article 22
