combining diacritic Half-signs

Characters used as half-signs Diacritic S combining with the character which they follow. These signs are presented combined here with the Latin letter tiny “  o  ” (U+006E) at ends of legibility. They however are not reserved only for the Latin writing, but not also used for the writings Greek, copte and Cyrillic.

These half-signs are normally employed per pair, one coded after a first basic letter with which it combines, the other coded after the last basic letter   ; these half-signs form a graphic binding then.

Their use is however not recommended in the new texts, and these half-signs are provided only for compatibility with old standards. It is today preferable to replace them by single diacritic, selected among the diacritics in double-width and coded between the two dependant letters.
