Gaucher V of Châtillon dies at the beginning of the long reign of Philippe VI of France in 1329 and is buried in the Abbaye of Bridge-with-Ladies, with Couilly-Bridge-with-Ladies. This abbey had been based, in 1226, by Hugues de Châtillon, lord of Crécy, very close to the current bridge of Couilly on bank of Morin, but a few years, undoubtedly driven out later by a flood of the river, the nuns settled with the hamlet of Rus which took the name of the abbey.
The actor Paul Préboist lived and is buried since 1997 in this village.
Tourist monuments and places
The " HOUSE OF ARTISTES" is a social work of the National Mutual insurance company of the Artists (10 avenue de l'Opéra in PARIS 75001) who acceuille, since 1905 of old actors, within an Old people's home open to all. The house, built by architect BINET (World Fair of 1900) of style art nouveau, and is decorated with frescos éléguantes of the painter bordessous of bellefeuille. This House cannot be currently visited, except the day of the Day of the Inheritance. the rich person collections of memories of theater were preserved and can be prétées for exposures organized by Museums.
