Couëron
Couëron ( " Koeron" in Breton) is a common French located in the department of the Loire-Atlantique and the area Pays of the Loire.
The common belongs to the historical Brittany, in the Nantes Pays.
Its inhabitants is called Couëronnais and Couëronnaises.

History
Couëron was during the years 1990 the city where the Venturi were built (approximately 700).
Industry
- There existed in Couëron a Verrerie. It started to function in 1781. King Louis XVI signed the March 31st 1784 the letters patent authorizing it. Some vestiges of this establishment, transformed thereafter into Soap nery, remain in the commune.
- Along the edges of the Loire the Company of the foundries and rolling mills of Couëron built in 1861, treated the ore of Plomb of any source and had Laminoir S with Laiton and Cuivre. It will become, with the wire of time, the factory of lead the Old woman about 1935, then factory Pontgibaud , and finally factory Tréfimétaux and which will close its doors in December 1988. The Tour with lead belongs to is complexed industrial.

Couëron is the second commune of the Nantes agglomeration by its surface.
Directed since 1995 by Jean-Pierre Fougerat and a municipal council of left (PS-PCF-PRG), it adheres in 2001 to the Urban community of Nantes. A group of Vert opposition constitutes the characteristic of this Municipal council.
Jean-Pierre Fougerat, also general adviser of the Canton of Saint-Etienne-to-Montluc since 1998, is vice-president of the Urban community of Nantes.
