Costa Blanca
The Costa Blanca is the name given to more than 200 km of coast in the Province of Alicante, in Spain. Tourist industry is strongly developed there. The coast extends from the commune of Denia in north, with the back of which the Costa of Valencia is, until Torrevieja in the south, with the Costa Cálida. It gathers the majority of the tourist destinations of which Benidorm and Alicante. The average temperature is there of 18 degrees Celsius.
Tourism
Starting from the Years 1950, the tourists of Western Europe flow, in particular of the Germany, the Belgium, the Netherlands and the the United Kingdom. With died of the dictator Free, tourism intensifies in spite of some momentary drops in number of visits. Costa Blanca is part from now on of the pillars of the Spanish economy. Constructions are numerous there, the area knew an important rate of urbanization with more 20 000 buildings. In 2005, it counts 13 course of Golf and 52 other projects of this type are envisaged. More 70 000 constructions are still planned but the real boom returned the rather expensive grounds and buildings. The purchasers ready to invest in a villa are done thus rarer.

- Elche, with a large palm plantation

- Torrevieja
Other municipalities are also to mention for their historical or tourist centers of interest: Denied, Moraira/Teulada, Benissa, Campello, Guardamar, Santa Pola and Orihuela. The tourists often consider that certain cities of the autonomous Communauté of Murcie like Murcie or Cartagène belong to Costa Blanca.

Urbanization
The Costa Blanca is the section of coast the most urbanized of Spain with nearly 96% of its linear concreted. The last not built sections are rock or wet zones not allowing the construction of buildings.
Gastronomy and daily life
Jalón
The village of Jalón (or Valencian Xaló in ) is famous for its Raisin, its Vin S and its Amandier S. Another speciality local, the Embutidos , is a kind of dried Saucisson. Each Saturday morning, a flea market takes seat within the borough.
