Cory Lidle

Cory Lidle was a player of American Baseball (March 22nd 1972 with Hollywood, California - October 11th 2006 with New York, NY). Launcher droitier, it evolved/moved during 10 seasons in the major Ligues for seven different teams. Four days after the elimination of the last team of which it carried the colors, the Yankees of New York, Lidle lost the life when its personal plane has struck a building of New York.

Career

Cory Lidle signed like free agent with the Twins of Minnesota in 1990, but forever carried the physical colors of this team. Released by the team in 1993, it will sign with the Brewers of Milwaukee, which will not employ it more but will exchange it in 1996 with the Mets of New York. The droitier will make his beginnings in the major ones with the Mets the March 8th 1997.

The July 30th 2006, the Yankees, then in full race with the championship, acquire of Cory Lidle and the Voltigeur Bobby Abreu, which evolved/moved with the Phillies of Philadelphia. In return, the Yankees yield the left-handed raising device Matt Smith and three players of the minor leagues: the Receiver Jesus Sanchez, the launcher droitier Carlos Monasterios and the player of stop-short C.J. Henry, who was their choice of first round to the fishing out of 2005.

The Yankees will be eliminated by the Tigers de Detroit in series from division from the American Ligue the October 7th 2006.

Death

The October 11th 2006 in afternoon, a plane is crushed against a residential building of the district Upper East Side with New York. Later during the day, FAA will confirm that the plane is recorded in the name of Cory Lidle. The passport of the launcher of the Yankees will be found not far from the places of crushing. The instructor of flight of Lidle was also on board apparatus at the time of the accident, which cost the life at least two people.

Cory Lidle had been pilot of plane for only seven months.
