The cortisone is a natural Hormone Glucocorticoïde of C21H28O5 formula.
Physiology
The cortisone, produced in the glands suprarenals located at the level of the higher pole of the Kidney S, is an inactive precursor of the Cortisol. The biological activity of cortisone accounts for 5% of the total glucocorticoïde activity in the organization, cortisol accounting for the 95% remainders. Cortisone is activated out of cortisol by an enzyme the 11β-hydroxystéroïde deshydrogénase (standard 1). Cortisol is necessary to the good performance of the organization, particularly in situation of stress, and at the time of an immunological answer.
