Corsier
Corsier is a common Suisse of the Canton of Geneva.
History
The oldest vestiges found along banks of the lake testify to the existence of several villages, going back to before year 3000 before our era. Between 1000 and 750 before J. - C., the inhabitants left the lake to be installed on the plate. After the Celtic and the Allobroges, the Roman were fixed in their turn on this territory.
It is with them that one owes the name of Corsiacum , which, through the centuries, was transformed into Corsier . With the the Middle Ages, the lords of Corsier reign on the village, whereas the neighborhoods are Savoyard. After having known the reform, Corsier became again Catholique at the end of the 16th century, under the influence of Saint François Dirty. Integrated during a certain time into the French department of Léman, Corsier became Suisse in 1816.
Hydrography
Corsier is located at the edge of the Lac Léman. The Commune is crossed by Nant D' Aisy which takes its source at the free-Switzerland border.
