Corsican-morning

Corse-Matin is a Journal French regional newspaper, published by the Corsica S.A Presses. This company belongs to the Groupe Nice-Morning and the group Provence, which depend themselves on the Groupe Lagardere. Corse-Matin is diffused on Corsica and in area PACA. The title created after the war was a long time in competition with the Corsican edition of the Marseilles daily newspaper Of Provence the , at the time of Gaston Defferre.

In 1997, Hachette Filipacchi Media (HFM), subsidiary of Lagardere, repurchases the group Nice-Morning on the Riviera, ten years after being seized the Provençal in Marseilles, become Provence. At the time, HFM wanted to constitute a great press group regional in the South-east of France. Two titles having the same shareholder are thus made competition in Corsica on this date. Fusion is inevitable.

In July 1999, Corsica , edition of Provence , withdraws herself. The two draftings do nothing any more but one and the bringing together is done somewhat in the pain. It is the Corse-Matin title which remains, but it does not belong only any more to Nice-Morning . A company common to Provence and Nice-Morning is created: the S.A Corsican-Press. It will be editor of the new newspaper, - Nice-Morning ensuring the leading responsibility, while Provence occupying itself, in Marseilles, of the impression - but also of a weekly magazine launched in the wake of fusion: Corsica Your Hebdo.

The Corsican drafting remains since partly made up of paid of the SAPO Nice-Morning and others of SA Corsican-Press, generating social disparities sometimes.

Since June 2006, Corse-Matin changed format and of model, passing to the format Berliner. Printed until now in Marseilles and conveyed in Corsica by plane in the night, it is drawn maintaining on the island in a new printing works built for the occasion close to Bastia (Haute-Corse) whereas the leading center remains based with Ajaccio.

Before the end of the year 2006, the group the Life it Monde, already majority in the Midday-Free should take the control of the regional newspapers of the Hatchet Group through a holding commune with the subsidiary company of Lagardere. The new entity will be then owner of all the regional newspapers of South-east, Perpignan to Nice and Corsica.
