Corsairfly (Code IATA: S ; Code ICAO: CRL ) is a Airline company regular Frenchwoman. She belongs to the greatest group of tourism in the world, the group TUI, based with Hanover.

Created in 1981 by a Corsica family, the Rossi family, under the name of Corsica International Air , it will be renamed Corsair in 1990 and will integrate the tourist group Nouvelles Borders. In 2005 it will be famous in Corsairfly to correspond to the new strategy of the group. In order to gather all its flying activities under the same name, the largest fleet of leisures of Europe, will be gathered under alliance TUIfly.

History

  • 1981 Created in 1981 by a Corsica family, the company Corsica Air International exploits until in 1986,4 Caravelle S. Jacques Shirt, historical president, yields the management of the firm to Mr. Ralf Corsten, chairman of the group for France. Mr. Pierre Chesneau is named chairman of Corsair. The group Nouvelles Borders thus ensures its perenniality inside a whole of tour operators and European companies.

  • 2002 This year is marked by the arrival of the fifth Boeing 747 -300.

TUI takes the total control of the in September group. The company is seen consolidating in two major goals: its place of regular company on the DOM, like its role of first French tourist company. The distribution of the company is widened with the whole of the French travel agencies, while remaining sold by Nouvelles Borders.
  • 2005 a Boeing 747-422 of United Airlines in the past registered N186UA is sold with Corsair and becomes F-GTUI . It is one of the first planes to receive the delivered news of the company, follow-up a few months later by 3 other Boeing 747-400: F-HSUN, F-HSEA, F-HSEX

  • 2007 the company withdrew from its fleet, on March 31st, its last 747 Classic, a Boeing 747-300 registered F-GSKY.
