Corroy

Corroy is a common French, located in the department of the Marne and the area Champagne-Ardenne.

History

Gallic, Gallo-Roman occupations and mérovingiennes. Several cemeteries were excavated by Andre Brisson before the war 39-45. Imposing church dedicated to Notre-Dame. A pilgrimage was held on September 8th to with it before the revolution. Splendid coupled porch gallery Champagne with the nave of the church, its frame is gone back to 1456.

The stronghold of Corroy belonged to the 15 and 16th century to the family of Saarbrucken then after 1625 to the lords of Pleurre. In 1914, Corroy represents the extreme position of advanced German troops at the time of the episode of the battle of the Marne.
