Corrective Maintenance
Copy expression English corrective maintenance (another translation, in conformity with the spirit of French: “correct maintenance”).
The corrective maintenance indicates the elimination of a damage or a deterioration in the operation of an material element (also called “well” or “entity” in the jargon of the speciality), by one of the various means which are repair, the restoration in a former state, and the replacement of the implied material element.
Certain authors give the expression “maintenance curative” (Engl. curative maintenance ) like synonym of “corrective maintenance”, whereas it is only one part only of the corrective maintenance (that which shows the restoration of the material element in a former state), in opposition to corrective a maintenance known as “palliative” (or, to speak simply, a provisional breakdown service). This last distinction is ignored authors of English language.
Another distinction made in corrective maintenance takes for base the character immediate or differed from the intervention, distinguishing:
- immediate corrective maintenance (English: immediate corrective maintenance ), carried out immediately after the breakdown;
- differed corrective maintenance (Engl. differed corrective maintenance ), delayed according to rules of maintenance given.
