Coronary insufficiency

The coronary insufficiency gathers a series of diseases due to a lack of oxygenation of the cardiac muscle (Myocarde), generally secondary with an attack of the coronary arteries.

It can appear by:

  • a Angina pectoris, also called angor: thoracic Pain of generally short duration.
  • a Myocardial infarction,
  • a Cardiac failure of the ischemic type,
  • a quiet myocardic Ischaemia which is the objectivation, using complementary examinations, of a myocardic suffering, without the patient complaining about pains.

Diagnosis

Suspecté by the private clinic:

  • patient having risk factors
  • thoracic Pain
  • signs of cardiac failure, for example breathlessness (dyspnea)

Specified by noninvasive complementary examinations:

  • Electrocardiogram of rest
  • Electrocardiogram of effort (test of effort)
  • myocardic Scintiscanning
  • echocardiography of stress

Confirmed by

  • primarily the Coronarographie,
  • more rarely, at least for the moment, the thoracic scanner multi bars.

See article: coronary Artery.

Treatment

Treatment of the coronary lesion

It can be:
    medicamentous
  • : anti incorporating plate (aspirine, plavix), hypocholestérolémiants (statines), anti-angineux (béta-blocking, inhibiting calcic)
  • a dilation of the responsible artery by way endoluminale (Angioplastie coronary)
  • a surgery by aorto-coronary Bridging.
