Corona (dance)

Corona is a group pop House composed of the producer Italy N Francesco Bontempi, alias Lee Marrow, and of the singer Brésil ienne Olga De Souza.

It is the latter which moves in Italy in 1990 and which forms Corona. Francesco Bontempi is already known for its productions Shanghai , To Go Crazy and Do You Want Me under the name Lee Marrow.

Corona was, at the time of the golden age of Dance, large a star of this music (phenomenon at that time comparable with the Band Servant boys or the madness Tokio Hotel, popular phenomenon near the teenagers and of the young people). Corona is thus a key character of Eurodance as well as Alexia, Jk or Whigfield. The first individual one of Corona Rhythm off the Night leaves in 1993 but success only in 1994 is, success is imposing and the title remains traditional a " still today; eurodance" and dancefloor in general. The duet leaves then individual the Baby Baby in summer 1995, the individual one is once again a success. To the re-entry 1995, the duet leaves the title " Try Me Out" and at the same time the first album " Rythm off the night" who also contains the title " C you want me" of Lee Marrow (of the same producer) under the name of corona. To the beginning of the year 1996 leaves the 4th individual one Corona " I don' T wanna Be has star" , very large success for beautiful Olga, titrates included in the album " the rhythm off the night" but remixé for its individual exit way retro disco music, style which will be popular at the time of first half of the year of the year 1996 and for Corona it will be a great artistic blow, indeed Corona will belong to these Dance groups which innovate and which do not follow any more the tendnace but which do it. Summer 1996, Corona leaves its fifth individual " Megamix" (medley of its four individual precedents: " Rhythm off the night" , " baby baby" , " Try me out" , " I don' T wanna Ba has star"). This practice of the " small best off in single" at that time is very popular in the Dance medium, and in France that often concluded by a success. These megamix is sometimes intended quasi-exclusivement for the French market, of many major artists of this scene had recourse there: Masterboy, Ice Mc, E-type, Whigfield, 20 fingers… The Dance phenomenon is blown and finished with the end of the year 1996. In France as abroad the stars of Dance will be killed by the appearance of the Servant boys Band or another Girls Group and the roof it is that certain servant boys band will be launched thanks to titles produced by stars of Dance, as the group Masterboy (aka Kings of Dance), who compose and produce the first individual one of Worlds appart " Baby like back" , major group of the phenomenon Servant boys band as well as Spice Girls but for the latter their success will not exceed the regions of Europe. Thus at the dawn of the year 1997 that is announced hard for Corona, however against any waiting, the singer will sign a success with its 6th individual " The power off love" , the individual one at that time will be even Gold disc in France, and this thanks to its Eurodance and an image which knew evolved/moved in spite of difficult times that Dance knows at this period!! This title announces the preparation of a new album, album which is announced under the best skies. At the summer 1998 and following the success of " The power off Love" , Corona leaves its 7th individual (not so badly when one knows as it is difficult for a Dance artist to last), and alas what had made the force of these last titles such as " I don' T wanna Be has Star" or " The power off love" , i.e. an evolution of the Eurodance style, is not present in this title, and in spite of the return of the dance with artists such as " 666" or " DJ Fred & Arnold T" thanks to the essouflemnt of the phenomenon Band Servant boys, the sauce does not take and individual the vautre lamentably in the charts and this in spite of the presence in the individual one of a remix signed " DJ Fred & Arnold T" , then popular. Indeed the title " walking one music" approaches the style of the titles " baby baby" or " try me out" left in 1995, style completely exceeded for this time, especially when one knows the quick change of the Dance sounds, and not yet nostalgic!!! The second album of Corona " Walking one music" leaves in the indifference in 1998 and its success will not exceed the borders of Italy. At the beginning of 1999, " Magic Touch" leaves in the vats like a cry last chance but the ringardise individual the " Walking one Music" will aurra already finished completing the reign of Corona, which bears its name well, since during several years it was a star of the dance before leaving its title in 1997 has another Italian singer: Official reception. In mow years 2000 one will speak again of the Corona singer, but for other reasons that its music, indeed, during the years the 2002-2004 one second Dance vagueness shakes Europe and sees the emergence of new Dance artists of which Benny Benassi and Benassi Bros. And the 1st individual one of the group Benassi Bros " Illusion" is a featring with a singer, certain Sandy, great voice in the medium of Dance ...... which proves to be in fact the voice of Corona (except on the title " Rhythm off the night") or Lee Marrow (the title don' T you want me signed originally by Lee Marrow into 1993 will be found in the album of Corona in 1995: the speudos have in fact the same vocalist). This revelation will badly disappoint not fans! In 2007 the title " baby baby" of Corona, will be taken again by the Sunblock group in featuring with Sandy, the Sandy singer in the shade of Corona then will reveal itself!
