Cornod
Cornod is a common French, located in the department of the the Jura and the area Franche-Comté.

March 13rd 1637, the village was the seat of a violent one fights between the French troops of the marquis de Conflans and the forces comtoises.

In the beginning, there were a strong castle with keep and turns surrounded by a broad ditch supplied with two sources. one could cross it thanks to two drawbridges. It becomes the property of the Seyturier family at the 15th century. In 1633, with died of Charles de Seyturier, lord de Cornod, the castle became the property of the marquis de Montagu. The Family Montagu emigrated with the Révolution and the castle was sold like Bien national. The baron Albert, who became mayor of Cornod, bought it at the beginning of the 19th century. In 1878 the castle is then repurchased by a Lyons industrialist who restored it giving him a Renaissance style. It will obtain the price of the best restoration of France. Since 2002, it is the property of the Sieradzki family of Polish origin which continues the interior restoration. The castle is not visited.Personalities related to the commune
