Corneliu Vadim Tudor (born the November 28th 1949 with Bucharest) is an important Rumanian politician since the old mode. After the revolution of 1989 it creates the nationalist party of extreme-right-hand side " Left Large Romania " (Partidul România Mare) which tries to prevent the liberal reforms.

Disciple of the writer Bearded Eugene (which was an adviser close and semi-official of the Rumanian dictator Nicolae Ceauşescu), Vadim Tudor is a powerful orator whom one calls sometimes the “Le Pen Carpates”.

It is in June 1990, with the approval and the encouragement of the Rumanian leaders Ion Iliescu and Petre Roman, that Vadim Tudor founds the weekly newspaper national-Communist of Romania, called " România Mare" (Newspaper of Large Romania). In May 1991, it founds the " Party of Large Roumanie" , which is according to Time Magazine a “bunch of Anti-sémitisme, of Racisme and nostalgia pro Communistes”. To this, one must add the ultra Nationalisme as well as the hatred of the Hungarian and the Tziganes. The newspaper of the party to many recoveries was continued for slandering, often because of the remarks written by Vadim Tudor him even (which usually signs - but not always - its proses of a pseudonym). Between 1993 and 1996, it associated its party in the government coalition of the left ex-Communist (" the Rouge" Quadrilateral;).

With the first turn of the Rumanian presidential election of the November 16th 2000, Vadim Tudor finished in second position with 28  % of the voices (four years earlier, he had arrived in fifth position). That involved the rallying of almost all the political community with Ion Iliescu for the second round of the December 11th 2000, and Vadim Tudor managed to obtain only 5 points moreover, whereas Iliescu passed from 36  % of the voices to the first turn with 67  % with the second.

Since, Vadim Tudor seems to have changed its convictions into carrying the colors of the Christian Democrat. For example, it supports today the entry of Romania in the European Union, like its presence in NATO. Into 2003, Vadim Tudor clearly changed its points of view on the Jews, the Judaïsme and the Holocauste. In a letter of the 2004, it gave up certain old statements which it had made, judged like anti-semites. Moreover, he wrote, “I know that I was wrong to have denied the Holocaust in Romania, which occurred between 1941 and 1944 under the mode of Antonescu”.

  • Its slogan: “I am the only saver”
