Cormontreuil
Cormontreuil is a common Frenchwoman, located in the department of the Marne and the area Champagne-Ardenne. It belongs to the community of agglomeration Rheims Métropole. Its inhabitants are called the Cormontreuillois (a Cormontreuillois , a Cormontreuilloise ).
History

Fondation of the ville.
The oldest hard copy referring to the existence of the commune is in the Polyptyque of Saint-Remi going back to 850. Cormontreuil is mentioned there under the name of Curtis Monasteriolis ( the firm cour/la of the monastery ).
Excavations carried out in 2001 with the locality the White Mounts made it possible to discover an occupation of the site dating from the protohistoric period.

Signification of the blason.
The flower of lily evokes the abbey of Saint-Pierre-the-Ladies, whose abbesses were lords of Cormontreuil until the Revolution of 1789. The cross of Saint Andre evokes the owner of the parish, Saint Andre, apostle who was crucifié on a cross in the shape of X. The compass refers to Gerard Chardonnet, known under the name of land-surveyor of Cormontreuil. It also symbolizes the opening of the commune on the technological world and progress. The nail points out the mills which were located along Vesle, evoked here by the curves located at the bottom of the blazon. The stars finally are there to mention its membership in Europe.
