Coriamyrtine
The coriamyrtine is a Alcaloïde very toxic contents in the plants of the kind Coriaria , and particularly in France Coriaria myrtifolia . It is present in all the plant but especially in the starts-up and the fruits.
It is a molecule close to the Picrotoxine, its effects are convulsants and close to the effects caused by the Strychnine. Without medical intervention, it can result in the coma and death.
The coriamyrtine was insulated, crystallized and named in 1866, by M.J. Riban.
Mode of action
The coriamyrtine acts on the central Nervous system, and its mode of action would be close to picrotoxine: it is about an antagonistic of the receivers GABAA.
