Corent is a common French, located in the department of the Puy-de-Dôme and the area of Auvergne. Corent belongs to the urban surface of Clermont-Ferrand.

The commune of Corent shelters the remainders of important a Oppidum Gallic. Taking into consideration excavation carried out it seems that the oppidum of Corent was the capital of the Arverne S before Gergovie. The recent excavations found the traces of an important sanctuary, with certain exceptional parts, such engraving representing the sanctuary of rise. The archaeological discoveries also confirmed the ancient texts on the banquets and distributions organized by the kings arvernes like Luernios or Bituitos.
