Corbel (architecture)
See also: Corbel
Covering element of a wall, it makes it possible to support a beam or a cornice.
It is generally integrated in the wall during construction (seldom paid by fixing).
With its role of support can be added a decorative role. It is often carved (Modillon) in the sumptuous buildings. The rigorous monasteries and the military architecture do not decorate it.
