Corato

Corato is a Italian city of the province of Bari in the Pouilles, with 40 kilometers in the north of Bari.

History

The dolmen of the Bronze Age, and a tumulus of the 7th century before J. - C., Torre Lunga of the 13th century and " palazzi" testify to the richness of its past.

It is a primarily agricultural city until 1960: olive oil, almonds, corn, wines, horticulture. Many industries developed in the fields of agro-alimentary, clothing (gloves), the manufacture of tiling and furniture.
