Coquainvilliers is a common French, located in the department of the Calvados and the area Basse-Normandie.

Coquainvilliers became known in all Europe in November 1907: one of the first flights of helicopter sprang there, carried out by Paul Cornu, manufacturer of cycles, (1881-1944), whose technical school of Lisieux bears the name.

To the crossing of the valley of the Drums and valley of Pre of Trough, the GR. 26 passes by Coquainvilliers.

History

Paul Cornu was the first man there to have taken off on board a Hélicoptère of its manufacture, the November 13rd 1907.
