Copacabana

Copacabana is a District of Rio de Janeiro with the Brésil located at the south of the city since July 6th, 1892. The Beach of Copacabana, long, 4,5 km is one of the beaches most famous of planet.

District

Copacabana is one of the most known districts of the city. It was originally called Sacopenapã . In the middle of the XIXe century, it was famous after the construction of a vault living a counterpart of the virgin of Copacabana, a small village located at the edge of the Lac Titicaca in Bolivia. In 1754 a monk Benedictine, Antonio de Desterro Malheiro then in perdition off Brazil had the promise that if it were left there alive, it would give the name of his village to the place where it would fail.

The district is animated and filled of goods Restaurant S, Cinéma S, Banque S, Synagog S (this district contains most of the Jewish community carioca ) shops and Théâtre S. From 1960, the fame of Copacabana grew and attracted more inhabitants than the district cannot contain some. It forms a linking microcosm of the families of different social classes in a small space between the sea and the mountain.

The beach

Copacabana has one of most beautiful and celebrates Plage S of planet, in half-moon extending on 4.5 km, of Leme until the Arpoador. It is called Princesinha C Mar , (Small Princess of the Sea). Copacabana is one of the tourist Emblème S of Rio de Janeiro, like the Corcovado or the Mont of the Sugar loaf.

Copacabana is the most famous shore of planet, that where Rio émancipe. As with Ipanema or Leblon, all happinesses are joined together there: the girls color of honey, the males enjôleurs, accessible terraces, the majestic shops temptresses and hotels.

In the medium is the oldest luxury hotel of the South America, the Copacabana Palace, built according to the plans of a French architect. The evening of the Midnight supper of New Year's Eve, gigantic a Fireworks is drawn in front of two million people gathered and equipped in white.
