Cony junior

Junior Cony is the project Dub of Jean-Semi also known to hold the machines of the groups of Punk French Ludwig Von 88 and Bérurier Noir. He was always a very active artist of the scene rock'n'roll alternative while contributing also to the mix of Raymonde & the Greenhorns, Sergent Garcia or Marousse.

Junior Cony practices a dub very impressed new technologies, but with an effort to keep his original of the dub years 70/80. A compromise between novo dub and roots dub worked only with Platinum S.

The first album “Inna Roots Tradition” evoke the English dub with a low line of and rhythmic mainly synthetic and however a homage marking to the dub roots. It is necessary to note the use of traditional instruments (Guitare S, Instruments wind…). Junior Cony specifies to have " recorded and mixed with zonmé between 1995 and 2001" this album, which leaves in the vats in 2003 on the label producing Crash Discs Ludwig Von 88 and to Pias well-known the electronic scene to distribute groups such Kaly Live Dub or the People of the Grass.

The same year leaves “Junior Cony Meets Shanti D & Mister Irie - At the Government Shop” or the artist revisits some as of these riddims and some news with the voices of the singers Shanti D and Mister Irie. It is a new exploration of the dub with pieces close to the Reggae or Ragga.

In 2006 “Peace Monger” at FZM leaves which marks the return of Cony Junior to the studio. Its dub remains always roots and digital, carried by the low deep one and planing melodies.

The artist takes part regularly in the nights Léo 38, on Radio libertarian.
