Convention of the United Nations on the international sale contracts of goods
The Convention of the United Nations on the international sale contracts of goods ( CVIM ) is a International treaty proposing an international law of the sale contracts, which, in 2006, were ratified by 70 countries which represents the three-quarters of the international exchanges.
The Convention was signed with Vienna on April 11th, 1980 in right, and it is called sometimes Convention of Vienna . It is a multilateral treaty, which came into effect on January 1st, 1988 in right, after being ratified by 10 countries. Unless that is expressly excluded in a clause from the contract, CISG has vocation to supplant any national right during an international exchange of goods between the parts of the various States which ratified the Convention .
