Convention of London (1841)
the convention of London of the July 13rd 1841 signed between the five powers (Great Britain, Austria, France, Prussia, Russia), relates to the Détroits and Egypt. It closes the the Bosphorus with all the men-of-war and confirms the hereditary sovereignty of Méhémet-Ali on Egypt. The Egypt loses the Syria for the benefit of the Othoman Turkey. Convention balances the question of the East definitively.
