Convention of Bonn
The Convention on the conservation of the migrating species belonging to the wildlife or Convention of Bonn ( CMS of the English Conservation off Migratory Species ) is international treaty signed in 1979 aiming at protecting the migrating animal species . This text came into effect on November 1st, 83 and France adhered to it in 1990.
By migrating species, the text implies, the protection of the populations or parts of population which crossed recurringly and in a foreseeable way one or more limits of national jurisdictions. Convention divide the migrating species according to the risks which weigh on each species in two appendices.
The first appendix contains the list of the migrating species in danger i.e. that the species risks the extinction or disappearance on an important surface or the totality of sound Aire of distribution. Convention prohibits any taking away of species registered on this appendix.
The second appendix east contains the species whose state of conservation is unfavourable i.e. when the extent of their surface of distribution are unstable or are reduced; when their habitats become insufficient; when their distributions and their manpower are lower than his historical level (with the last census favorable to the species). When one of these factors is filled, the state of conservation is regarded as unfavourable. It is necessary, for protected spaces by appendix 2, to implement measurements aiming at the re-establishment of the species.
The states of the surface of distribution are in charge of the protection of these species according to the appendix concerned.
