Convention of Alkmaar
The convention of Alkmaar is signed the October 18th 1799, at the time of the Second coalition by the general Brune.
To Helder, the August 27th 1799, a British fleet proceeds to the unloading of an army made up of British and Russians having at his head Frederic, duke of York. The general Guillaume Marie-Anne Brune inflicts to them several consecutive defeats at the time of the battles of Bergen, Alkmaar, Castricum and obliges his chief to sign, the October 18th 1799, the convention of Alkmaar, almost a rendering which specifies réembarquement overcome troops and their departure of Holland.
