Convallariaceae
The family of the Convallariacées is a family of plants Monocotylédone S which includes/understands approximately 65 Espèce S divided into 11 kind S:

Aspidistra, Convallaria, Heteropolygonatum, Liriope, Lourya, Maianthemum, Ophiopogon, Peliosanthes, Polygonatum, Reineckea, Smilacina, Tupistra .
They are herbaceous, perennial, rhizomateuses plants or tuberoses, with the well developed sheets. It is a largely widespread family in the Northern hemisphere.
Among the plants of this family, in France, one can quote:
- the Lily of the valley of May ( Convallaria majalis ),
- the seal of Solomon of the kind Polygonatum ,
- the Maïanthème with two sheets of the kind Maianthemum .
This family exists in very few classifications; she is often regarded as belonging to the big family of the Liliacées. Nevertheless, it exists in the phylogenetic classification APG (1998). The revision of 2003 (APG II) gathers it with other families (Ériospermacée S, etc) under the denomination of Ruscacée S or Asparagacées.
