Control panel

In the Data-processing world , the control panel is a Interface making it possible to visualize and modify parameters of software use of or material operation .

Thus, for example, in the Operating systems such as Microsoft Windows, Mac OS the control panel allows:

  • to add material components, to modify the Pilot of them (data-processing), to modify of it the parameters of operation,
  • to add or remove programs,
  • to change the parameters of visualization ( resolution in pixels, bottom of screen, sizes of the police forces of posting…),
  • …

Some applications have their own control panel which makes it possible for example to memorize for the later uses the parameters user. Or (such as for example the navigators Web) of the parameters of safety and confidentiality.

One will generally find this control panel in the small “Options” or “Preferences” of the application

More generally, in the industrial world, for example, a control panel is a vertical table where are laid out of the orders allowing to regulate the operation of a system (interruptory potentiometers, ,…) and/or of the display systems of the operation of the system (LED, bill-posters lcd,…).
