Continental congress
The continental Congrès is the name given to the legislative assembly common to the Thirteen British colonies in North America which are at the origin of the the United States. This assembly held two sessions between 1774 and 1789. First place in Philadelphia had.

the First Congress continental ( Continental First Congress ) is held between the September 5th 1774 and the October 26th 1774.
- the Second Congress continental ( Second Continental Congress ) meets May 10th 1775 at March 1st 1781, date of the ratification of the Articles of the Confederation.
- Of March 1st, 1781 to the March 4th 1789 off sat the Congrès of the Confederation ( Congress the Confederation or United States in Congress Assembled . This institution gathered the same members as the Second continental Congress.
The continental Congress was intended to coordinate American resistance to the Intolerable Acts . But it quickly became the executive body of the new nation during the American Révolution. Once the war of independence finished, the political personnel remained the same one and continued to serve in the American Congrès.
