Constantius Gallus
Gallus ( Flavius Claudius Constantius Gallus ) (325/326 - 354) is a Roman Emperor 4th century.
Wire of a half-brother of Constantin I {{er}}, Jules Constancy, he was the half-brother of Julien and was, like this one, high with the variation and in a precarious situation after the assassination of their father in 337.
In 351, the emperor Constance II raised it with the dignity of César, at 26 years, and installed it with Antioche, while itself remained in Occident. Gallus organized some police operations in the East, in particular against the brigands of Isaurie and against a Jewish insurrection. It had to face disorders with Antioche, because of a food shortage. But it managed the situation in a very awkward way and condemned to dead or let assassinate a certain number of notable.
Constancy recalled it in Occident and, without letting it present its defense, made it carry out into 354 in Flanone, Dalmatie.
