Consonant coronale
A consonant coronale , or more briefly coronale , indicates, in Articulatory phonetics, a Consonne Apicale or Laminale whose Lieu of articulation is located in the zone Post-alveolar Dentales/Alvéolaires/.
Except for the fricative ones (and thus for the affricate consonants), only one play of symbol is offered by the API one for the coronales: occlusive, nasal, fricative side, rolled, beaten (Central) and (side), Liquid, Approximating, Nasal.
When that is necessary, to distinguish the dental consonants types, alveolar or post alveolar, the diacritic following is used:
{{APIb|̪}} (Pontet subscribes) for the dental consonants,
{{APIb|͇}} for the alveolar ones,
{{APIb|̠}} (subscribed Bar) for the post-alévolaires.
In fact, very few languages make the distinction apart from the fricative ones (dental consonants), (alveolar), (post-alveolar).
When that is not specified, the consonants are considered to be alveolar but that can also mean that the described language does not make distinction between two of the three or three joints.

Dental `churn'
Alveolar `village with dairy'
As specified higher, without diacritic alveolar indicates here.
It still should be specified that the opposition alveolar/post-alveolar dental consonants/concerned the active articulator who can be apical or laminal can enter. For example, French generally uses an articulation apical dental consonant but certain speakers carries out dental consonants laminales to see the alveolar apical ones what on the other hand is the general information in the English speakers although some of those Ci produce apical dental consonants.
Certain work would tend to show that in the languages opposing alveolar dental consonants/this difference is reinforced by an opposition apical/laminal. Chomsky and Halle when with them propose to use the coronal term like a feature to indicate the activity of the point/blade of the language reinforced by the parameter to model the oppositions.
