Conrad de Montferrat

Conrad de Montferrat (towards 1145 - 1192), prince de Tyr (1187 - 1192), marquis de Montferrat (1190 - 1192) and king de Jérusalem (1192 - 1192), wire of Guillaume V, marquis de Montferrat and of Judith de Babenberg.
He is cousin of Louis VII of France.
He took the cross in 1186, stopped some time with Constantinople, where it defended the Byzantine emperor, Isaac II Angel, against its revolted subjects and where in 1187, it killed the general revolts Alexis Branas in battle.
He had unloaded in Tyr at the time when the Royaume of Jerusalem sank in chaos, after the Bataille of Hattin. He improvised chief of the city, put it in a state of defense and pushed back the attacks of Saladin. To take advantage of its rights on the throne of Jerusalem, he married Isabelle of Jerusalem.
In 1192, an arrangement take place for the royalty: Conrad de Montferrat was recognized king de Jérusalem, and Guy de Lusignan had the Royaume of Cyprus.
A little later Conrad was assassinated by two Ismaëlien S, on April 28th, 1192.
Isabelle, enclosure, married Henri II of Champagne May 2nd, 1192. The girl of Conrad, Marie de Montferrat, nacquit after the death of his/her father.

- Theodora, sister of Isaac II Angel (1187). (It is probable that Conrad was divorced by it owe 1190.)
