Conrad de Lichtenberg

Conrad de Lichtenberg (towards 12401299) is bishop of Strasbourg at the 13th century.

This famous character of the family of the Lichtenberg makes his entry in the ecclesiastical medium as of the 13 years age. He is elected bishop of Strasbourg in 1273.

Although of guerroyeuse nature (he dies of the continuations of a wound received with the war), he did not neglect his duties of bishop. One owes him the construction of the Western frontage of the Cathédrale Notre-Dame of Strasbourg, realized by Erwin Von Steinbach. It is buried there in the Midsummer's Day vault.

With the family castle of Lichtenberg, it makes build the Logis seigneurial, of which remain today the cellars transformed into casemates at the 19th century.
