Conrad Veidt
Conrad Veidt , of its true name Hans Walter Conrad Weidt , is a German actor born the January 22nd 1893 with Potsdam (Germany), and deceased of a Myocardial infarction the April 3rd 1943 with Hollywood (the United States).
Biography
Formed at the school of max Reinhardt, it begins with the cinema in 1916. Emblematic figure of the movement German expressionnist, it incarnates the morbid tendencies of them, thanks to an important gallery of pervert and insane murderers. He also in particular played in Casablanca .From 1916 with its death, he played in more than one hundred films, of which several became the traditional ones. One of its most famous roles remains that of Cesare in the Cabinet of Doctor Caligari (1920). Its character in the Man who laughs (1928) inspired that of the Joker, sworn enemy of Batman.
