Conrad III of Hohenstaufen , born in 1093, deceased in 1152, Germanic Roman Emperor of 1138 with 1152. Wire of Frederic I {{er}}, duke of Souabe and Agnes of Germanic.
He marries Gertrude de Soultzbach (? - 1146) and had two children of them:
- Henri (1137-1150)
- Frederic duke of Souabe (1145-1167) which marries Gertrude of Saxony, girl of Henri the Lion duke of Saxony and of Bavaria.
He disputed, but without success, the crown with Lothaire II (1127), and was elected after the death of this prince, in 1138. He had as a candidate Henri Superb the, duke of Saxony and Bavaria, and supported against him a long war. There stripped it of all its goods, and remained Master of the throne after the victory of Weinsberg (1140): it is of this war which the parties date from the Guelfe S and the Gibelin S. In 1147, it left for the Holy Land with Louis VII France: he besieged Damas vainly, and returned as of 1149 in Germany without to have obtained any result.
