In Masevaux, a college and an avenue are dedicated to him.May 27th 1978, the ambassador of the United States revealed the plate affixed at the native house, with the n° 29, place des Alliés. She recalls that in this house came in the world Conrad Alexandre Gerard and his/her brother Joseph Mathias says Gerard de Rayneval. The two brothers directed during a certain time the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of France.
It is interesting to note that it is thanks to this solidarity between France and America, expressed by A.C. Gerard in the name of the king, that thousands of Alsaciens could emigrate at the 19th century. Reciprocal solidarity also played at the time of the two world wars where the Americans assisted from France and Europe.
