Connect K

Relient K is a group of Christian Rock , originating in Canton (Ohio, the United States) and founded in 1998. Its name comes from Plymouth Connecting K, car model of the guitarist Matt Hoopes. In 2003, the group received two dove awards and was nominated with the Grammy S for the Best Gospel Modern Rock Album . All the current members are Christian, but its label of " Christian rock'n'roll " is disputed. On this subject, the singer principal Matt Thiessen indicates in an interview that the classification of the group their is indifferent: “ Call us as you want. One card-indexes oneself some. We do right what we do. We compose what we want to compose, and most of the time it is our heart and our faith. ”

The group was more known after its signature for " Capitol Records" and the exit of its fourth album, Mmhmm . They left their fifth album, Five Score and Seven Years Ago , on March 6th, 2007.

Members

Relient K was created in 1998 by Matt Thiessen and Matt Hoopes, and Brian Pittman. Todd Frescone rejoined the group for a few months in 1998. After All Work and No Play , Todd Frescone was replaced by Stephen Cushman. Cushman was with the battery on the 2000 A.D.D. , and also on Relient K in 2000, but it left later, this year. Jared Byers, of Bleach, replaced Cushman until the arrival of Dave Douglas in December 2000. The composition of the group was the same one for The Creepy EP , The Anatomy off the Tongue in Cheek and Mmhmm , after the departure of Brian Pittman to launch a company of gardening. Now Pittman plays of low for the " group; Inhale Exhale". John Warne, principal singer and player of guitar for " Ace Troubleshooter" , Pittman for the remainder of 2004 replaced and is since with low full-time. It is into 2005 that Jon Schneck united like third guitar, and also to hold the banjo and the bells, for a more distinct sound.
