Conk gadget
Pif gadget is a monthly Magazine French of cartoons for youth, created in February 1969, whose frequency of publication was in the weekly beginning. He was an enormous success with the beginning of the year 1970.
Origins
Founded in 1969, under the aegis of the French Communist party, he is the successor of Vaillant, the newspaper of Conk . The Pif dog was born under the feather from Jose Cabrero Arnal, affectionately called Mr Paparnal . The magazine is called at its beginnings Pif and its gadget surprised then, a few months later, Pif gadget .It owes its name with:
- its principal hero, the Dog Conk.
- with the gadget offered with each number, of which famous Pifises ( Artemia salina , a small shellfish), and Pifitos, the jumping Peas alive of Mexico.

It is also characterized by its publication in complete stories, attested by the line of hangs “all in complete accounts”, contrary to the majority of the other reviews of cartoons who always offered stories to be followed, thus forcing with the development of consumer loyalty of the reader ( Pilote, Tintin, the Newspaper of Mickey… ).This review published, inter alia:

Records of diffusion
Number 60 of April 1970, which contained famous Pifises, was drawn to 1.000.000 from specimens (650 000 specimens, then withdrawing with 350.000 specimens).Number 137 of September 1971, which proposed like gadget jumping peas of the Mexico, was also drawn to 1.000.000 from specimens.
It acts in both cases of strongest pulling in Europe for a newspaper of Cartoon. This record is probably not close being beaten.

End of a career
One of the last philosopher's stones of the magazine was the edition with each number during several months in 1989 of a booklet on the French revolution which revived Pif and Hercules. The last number of Pif the newspaper appears in November 1993 (n° 1253). Two numbers of Pif discovered are followed from there in December, which were the last.
Rebirth
The magazine knows one second life since a number double special summer, numbered 1, is published on July 1st 2004. The first gift is a unit to raise of the “Pifises” ( Artemia salina ).It inaugurates a new series which is from now on monthly as from September 2004 whose second number offers what to create “cubic eggs”, there still a famous gadget of the magazine (of others extremely popular were the catapults and the lighter anti-smokers).
Patrick Call-Muller is the director of the drafting of Conk Gadget whose Pierre Dharreville is editor association and the scenario writer François Corteggiani is editor association data base a new generation of authors joined draftsmen and scenario writers of the old weekly magazine.
