Conference of the nongovernmental international organizations

The Conférence of the nongovernmental organizations internationames is one of the institutions of the the Council of Europe where it represents the civil society. Its plenary sessions take place per annum four weeks with the Palais of Europe to Strasbourg.

In recognition of their influence and their legitimacy in the fields of the democracy and the human rights, the Committee of the Ministers their granted in 2003 a participative statute.

Organization

The Conference of the COInG is represented by a President elected at a full session. The president coordinates work of the Conference with the assistance of an office resulting from the Commission of Connection it even elected by the whole of the COInG equipped with the participative statute. To date, it is chaired by Mrs Annelise Oeschger.

Regroupings sets of themes

For more effectiveness the conference was organized in regroupings sets of themes. Each regrouping elects its presidents and vice-presidents.

These regroupings sets of themes are 10:

  • Education and culture
  • Dialog and solidariré North-South
  • Civil society and democracy in Europe
  • Rural world and environment
  • Health
  • ONG-Cities
  • Equality/Parity woman/man
  • Great poverty and social cohesion
