Conference of Ypres
The conference of Ypres is a meeting which proceeded on May 21st, 1940 with Ypres, Belgian city located on the channel of the Yser.
It aimed to constitute an operation in order to restore the junction between the allied troops combatant in Belgium and those combatant on the face of the Sum.
This meeting in a context of rout for the allied armies beaten by the speed and the power of their adversaries made meet the king of the Belgians Léopold III the générallissime French Weygand and the general Billotte. It should be noted that Lord Gort chief of the British Expeditionnary Force was absent from debates.
With final this conference changed nothing during the countryside France and did not prevent the collapse of the French Armies and Belgian.
