The Conference of San Francisco , being held in the city of the same name, was initiated by the the United States and gathered 51 States (48 States and 3 seats for the USSR: for the Ukraine, for Bielorussia and the last for the USSR it even) from April 25th to June 26th 1945 in order to establish a common alliance. Its convocation had been decided in February at the time of the conference of Yalta. It is at the conclusion of the conference that was born the United Nations (UNO), with the signature of the Charte of the United Nations.
