The Confédération of the free trade unions (CSL) was a regrouping of autonomous labor unions, free and independent. The C.S.L had taken again the tradition of the alive trade unionism independent in France since the end of 19th and century and which saw cohabiting of the trade unions - house and the organizations anxious to take a free action of political influences (Certain C.G.S.I.regroupaient sections thus with beginning of the year 50 of the gaullists of the R.P.F and anarchists, all anxious to escape the domination from the P.C.F.)

History

One found them in particular in the sector of auto industry, at the Post office (in 1971, the minister Robert Galley grants 25 permanent detachments to them), at the Town of Paris.

The CSL formerly did not name French Confédération of work (CFT), and before still CGSI.

The CSL is officially dissolved in 2001, but its sections for the majority continued their life under other names (SIA at Citroen, SIATT at the town of Paris…), or by joining confederations (like FO at Peugeot). ------------------
