Confederation coed

The Confédération coed ( C ) is a Syndicat studied, it wants to change the higher education, to open it on the work world and the Europe.

Genesis

Origins

The Confederation coed was born beginning 2003 from a small number of members of the UNEF (including one elected with CNOUS and an elected official CNESER) resulting from the trade-union Tendance (minority) in rupture with the national line. It are joined by the OLD of Angers, of Nantes, Limoges, La Rochelle, Paris 3, Paris 5 and Sceaux resulting from the same tendency; rejoined by several local associations nonrelated to UNEF: TNT (the Marne the Valley), Jade (Bordeaux 4), JTL1 (Toulouse 1), Association coed of Amiens, Re To act (Montpellier 2), Associative for the defense of the students (Orleans), Changes your FAC (Mans) and supported by the CFDT (and in particular by Nicole Notat.

History

29 and March 30th 2003: General meeting founder of the Confederation coed.
March 10th 2004: Signature of the contract of association with the CFDT.
July 2006: The C obtains for the first time an elected official with CNESER and becomes thus a organization representative within the meaning of the law Jospin of the 11 July 1989.
July 2007: Following the dissolution of association close to the UDF Identity European coed, the sections of Caen, Montpellier, Lyon 2 and 3 and of Toulouse join the C.

Organization

Structure

As opposed to what suggests its name, the C is not a confederation (federation of federations) nor really a federation (it is organized on a national diagram than federal). Juridically, it is an association Loi 1901. Essentially it took again the mode of organization of UNEF with as notable difference which it does not function in tendencies (the way of voting is thus not proportional but majority).

The members elect, at the time of Congrès who take place every two years, an national office and an executive commission.

The C publishes a newspaper of information of the members, Cé (T) to say .

Foreign relations

The C is associated with the CFDT since March 2004 which, according to Le Monde, would annually subsidize it with height of 30.000 € to relay in the young people “the same design of the trade unionism reformist and independent”. This support is also material through, for example, the impression of leaflets or the intervention of militans cedetists at the time of demonstrations or elections. The persons in charge of the C are brought to take part in the congresses or the campaigns on the site of CFDT. The C is also partner of organizations in which CFDT is present as the organization Sauvons Europe.

Relations between the UNEF and its former members " scissionnaires" remained difficult even sometimes violent at the local level, the C criticizing its " immobilisme" and its " duplicité" , " a wing (of Unef) is proche" C. Positioning

trade-union Step

The C proposes a trade-union step " réformiste" (by affirming for example that the reform of the Université is " a vitale" need;) who lies within the scope of his values of “democracy, solidarity and Europe”.

Mode of action

The C falls under the system of representation of the students to the center of the central councils of universities (thus belonging to a tendency " Co-gestionnaire" Trade unionism studied, contrary to the Trade unionism of fight) and of the national bodies of representations near the ministry like the National council of higher education and research. Campaigns and positions

After having carried the insertion of the students like third mission of the university and an improvement of the orientation, the C militates for an increase in the equipments of the universities in order to make effective these evolutions and realizes, with the CFDT, of the campaigns for the defense of the rights of the seasonal workers.
